There is nothing better for me than a walk on the beach with my devoted dog at my side. Stella Bella is my dog hero. Plucked from the streets of Miami, Florida, Stella was brought to an over-crowded dog pound. Her future looked bleak. That was until a dog rescue organization found her and brought her to a foster family who lovingly cared for her until she was ready for adoption. The family had two little girls who wheeled Stella in a doll carriage. To this day, Stella gets very excited and happy when she sees little kids. Stella’s foster family posted her photo on www.petfinder.com.
My daughter saw it, sent me the link and I couldn’t resist the look in her soulful eyes. After being checked out thoroughly by the rescue organization, I was ready to bring my little dog home. It was a trip for a best friend to come along — and my oldest, dearest childhood friend joined me for a ride across the State of Florida. We took her from her loving foster parents (the mom cried joyful tears) and then we brought her to her new home. That was one of the best days of my life. There are people who say that we don’t choose a dog, a dog chooses us! In Stella’s case, I think it was mutual.
